Current model status
Whisker has discontinued Litter-Robot 3 and 3 Connect in the U.S., but says parts, warranty service, and technical support will continue for existing owners.
Litter-Robot 3 and 4 use the same globe-style sifting concept and require clumping litter. Their main differences are physical access, sensing, connectivity, and cycle design. Both also need routine maintenance and periodic deep cleaning.

Keep your LR3 if
It works reliably, its narrower entry suits your cat, and you do not need LR4's integrated monitoring. Whisker says LR3 parts and technical support will continue.

A wider entry, quieter cycle, 3-pound automatic-mode minimum, and integrated Whisker app monitoring matter to your household.
